Change the way of building. This manifesto expresses the profound convictions of FINALCAD. It is a homage to all construction stakeholders -architects, clients, craftsmen - who work everyday to raise the standards of construction excellence in terms of quality, cost and schedule.
Today, each work is a prowess of art and engineering : skyscrapers, offices, apartments, schools, hospitals, sports and cultural facilities. Each of them is different, unique. There technicality and their complexity have reached summits, whilst productivity has not evolved in the same way. We are impeded by the paper process of another age, wasting time and energy correcting defects drip by drip.
CAO (Design assisted by Computers) and BIM (Building Information Modeling) have helped architects and engineers construct in a virtual way before constructing in a real way. But one link in the chain has been ignored on the way : the field, the sites. We think that the real digital transformation comes from the field as digital models are not complete once confronted with reality.
We have created tools dedicated to the field. These tools are at the service of people, not the opposite. With or without connection, wherever, whenever. To improve productivity, whilst minimizing the required interactions to obtain the desired result. To enable the decision with the help of intelligent data and predictive analytics. In each case, we attach great importance to the fact that our applications are simultaneously simple, elegant and useful.
FINALCAD’s mission is to improve quality, by reducing cost and making it accessible to all. Accessible to all the stakeholders engaged in a construction’s lifecycle -architects, clients, craftsmen-, from the foundations to completion, through to renovation and operation. Our applications and economic models adapt to all sizes of projects, from the most modest to the most complex. What does not change, is our demand for quality to become accessible to as many as possible.
It is not just that we need to get rid of paper, we need to build differently. Changes induced by the digital building transformation push organizations to reinvent themselves and adopt new processes that optimise costs and lead times, reduce waste and the impact on the environment and improve the quality of the final product. Together we can start now.
